Novox 10 runs amongst the ranks of the Shanghai label, buoying itself in a scene far from Skyshaker’s native New York find to create newfound belonging. The artist reassembles ten tracks from international collaborators into a homage to Black femininity, collapsing themes of alienation and belonging into a singular form. On their remix of Scintii’s ‘Deux’, Skyshaker detonates the artist’s vocal track into an explosive ballad of synths that rupture at the pulsating techno beat.
