An exhibition, a bar, a costume party + an homage to an essential fragile history in Bei Cosy at Rongwrong

The Bei Cosy exhibition and event series was on at Amsterdam’s Rongwrong, opened June 16 and ran to July 8.

Somewhere between an “an exhibition, a bar and a costume party,” the programme took place over four weekends with invited artists hosting the commissioned events under the title ‘Fingerbekenntnisse.’ Those taking part included AA Bronson, Johannes Büttner, Johanna Gonschorek, Philipp Gufler, Caspar Jade Heinemann, Fabian Hesse, Richard John Jones, Evelyn Toacheng Wang, Sands Murray- Wassink and Geo Wyeth.

The show title takes its name from a well-known Munich bar run by Cosy Pièro from 1962 to 1982, which stands for “an essential yet fragile history, a complex interwoven web of art, sex, inclusion/ exclusion, gender identity and sociability.” The German artist has also been involved in the project, collaborating with Gufler, Jones, Murray-Wassink and Cluitmans. **
