Your Presence is Encouraged, a group exhibition is on at Los Angeles’s Nevine’s Yard, open April 10, 17 and 24, by appointment.

Curated by Isabel Yellin, the show features new work by Amanda Ross-Ho, Anna Sew Hoy, Olivia Erlanger, Rosha Yaghmai, Nevine Mahmoud and Alison Veit. Along with a durational performance and companion video, writer and comedian Christina Catherine Martinez contributes a text that awkwardly invites potential viewers to leave isolation and see the exhibition in person:

“Come. We’ll have drinks and stuff but you can’t go in the house so make sure you use the restroom before you leave, or stop at a Starbucks or something on the way.”**
