Installed in the Finnish winter, the show is built around an out-of-season native rosebush, housed in a ceramic vase by Man Yau, which flowers under artificial light as a sealed memento of a lost summer. Also featuring a zine with a contribution from Feminist Culture House, an accompanying mix by Malibu and an online LARP performance work by Susan Ploetz, Midsummer Rose evokes a kind of magical storytelling, noting that at “the end of the exhibition, when the last petal falls, the spell will be broken.”**
