B.yhzz released EP Moments Before, Given Trust via Warsaw’s Intruder Alert on March 12, with a follow-up music video for ‘Embodiment Of’ premiering on AQNB today. The Polish producer has released his experiments in post-industrial sound through the aforementioned label he co-founded, as well Montréal/Mexico City’s Infinite Machine and Stockholm/Zürich’s Country Music.
While earlier records have been abrasive exercises in creating electronic noise through lo-fi and analogue means, Moments Before, Given Trust is a more contemplative affair. Tracks are often lead by guitar and piano lines that are haunted by menacing atmospherics, creating an uneasy sense of impending doom. Meanwhile, ‘Embodiment Of’ is a comparatively minimal track, where the swelling ambient undertow is interjected by clanking and clumsy organic beats. B.yhzz’s voice tells of looming catastrophe from deep in the mix, while the video—produced in collaboration with photographer Lola Banet and visual artist Piotr Grabowski—follows the simple though powerful portraits of two people being slowly drenched in dripping water.**
