RRUCCULLA‘s SHuSH album was released via Bilbao’s BIIPBIIP on October 31, with track ‘Tea Gambler’ featuring on AQNB today. The Bilbao-based producer and drummer has released a whopping six mini-albums since starting in 2015, taking her influence from an eclectic set of styles, including free-jazz, drum n bass, footwork, math rock and Latin music, among others.
Comparisons could be drawn to the frenetic IDM of artists like Flying Lotus and AFX, as well the brash and colourful multiverses of the PC Music crew, Iglooghost or Galen Tipton. RRUCCULLA is more intense though, where ‘Tea Gambler’ runs on a nervous broken beat and stabbing hoover cutups that breathlessly vacillate around their own cyclic energy.**
