Brooklyn’s Motel is announcing its inaugural exhibition, titled Room Service and featuring works by Daniel Klaas Beckwith, Raque Ford, and Sarah Esme Harrison, opening on May 15.
New Haven’s Beckwith, who earned his MFA from Yale, has shown his work recently at Atlantis Gallery in Richmond, Virginia, and at Pool Art Fair in Miami, Florida. Joining Beckwith is Brooklyn-based Harrison, whose works from the last few years have taken oil painting to new places, working with rug-like patterns that, at first, look entirely like textiles.
Ford, also based in Brooklyn, presents spray painted, layered works, some with objects like lipsticks protruding out of them. She’s recently exhibited at Soloway and 321 Gallery in New York, as well as Welcome Screen in London.
See the exhibition page for details. **
