Blurring the lines between sterilized design showrooms and the run-down moral fabric of a real-life sex store, Sex Shop features everything from 2D visualisations and 3D maquettes to sound- and video-based responses in the form of a temporary sex shop open for business.
Curated by Sarah Gillham, Jack Stokoe and Darren Nairn, the group exhibition aims to explore the seaside town’s enduring relationship with sex with works from 40 artists, designers, and creative professionals asked to develop a prototype of their own sex or fetish object, including Jorge De la Garza, Marloes ten Bhömer, and Joey Holder.
