Remember Parallel lines? The amazing campaign released by Philips & Ridley Scott Associates last April, well they’ve finally unveiled earlier this week the winners of their summer “Tell It Your Way” Contest…

After a first filter by a few members of RSA associates and the Bafta organisation the more than 600 entries from around the world where submitted to public vote for 3 rounds earlier this summer. Two main prizes were awarded, the Grand Prize attributed to Keegan Wilcox for his “Porcelain Unicorn” (up here), and also “Baby Time” who seemed to convince the on-line community and got the “People’s Choice” award )directed by French director Cedric Petitcollin).

Mr Wilcox’ video was selected by Sir Ridley himself who commented: “I chose Porcelain Unicorn to be the winning film as it had a very strong narrative; a very complete story that was well told and executed.”

Keegan Wilcox commented: “I’m honored and humbled Sir Ridley Scott selected our film from five equally deserving entries. This came as a huge surprise. Being awarded the opportunity from Philips to gain valuable work experience at RSA is a privilege and a first step on the long road to a career.” Wilcox cites his grandfather’s war stories as inspiration for the short, and the ‘hero’s journey’ of a Joseph Conrad novel.

We would also be happy if we were awarded with a potentially career-making opportunity of a week’s work experience at Ridley Scott Associates (RSA) offices, 7 nights’ accommodation, spending money and the new Full HD 3D Cinema 21:9 Platinum series TV from Philips. In addition, his film will appear on www.philips.com/cinema and be globally promoted by Philips.

Personally I would have gone for ANY of the other darker & less cliche top 5 finalists, and in case you want to see the rest of the entries… you’re just one click away…. but we warn you.. 303 films with the same storyline can feel… awkward.
