No pets allowed

The Spanish animation industry is in good shape and keeps producing & releasing films like crullers (although not all of them are top quality). The recently created studio Nest under Sixbirds & with Headless productions have several projects in the pipe, and no pets allowed shall see daylight very soon…

Directed by Adrian Garcia, Victor Maldonado & Alfredo Torres (the ones behind Headless) “No Pets Allowed” tells us the story about the monotonous and boring life of a family is altered after the unexpected invasion of their home by strange and fun alien monsters. The problem is that theirs is not the only invaded apartment in the building.

Besides No Pets allowed Nest studio is also preparing another 3 projects: 1 more full CG-feature animation film and 2 live-action films with heavy visual-effects contents.

Spain with France keep pushing the European animation mainly  thanks to government help by financing or with tax breaks. Several independent studios have been set up in the last few years, many times by talented animators who’ve come back from the States after learning the secrets of big productions.

We have to say that NPA’s trailer doesn’t really make us dream… however other Headless productions do look way more interesting…. especially “The strange case of dad’s missing head” or “I’m a monster” which should (cross your fingers) be released next year (you can see some images in their demo reel below).
