Nuestrxs Putxs, a group exhibition organised by LAR Arts and featuring Frieda Toranzo Jaeger, Bárbara Sánchez-Kane and Isabelle Albuquerque, was on a Los Angeles’ Human Resources, running July 17 to August 21.
With sculpture, painting and a market (‘Sacred Rose Mercado’) selling limited edition works and design collaborations, the show evokes the feminine through religion, ritual and sexuality. As noted in the press release, “Both prelapsarian and post-apocalyptic, the ruins of Nuestrxs Putxs contain threads from indigenous Mexican histories, Catholic devotional art, BDSM, social media and more.”**
