Exploring the limits of language through the body & signification with the sculptural & sonic works of Mariechen Danz

Clouded in Veins, a solo exhibition by Mariechen Danz, is on at Kunsthalle Recklinghausen, running May 2 to August 29.

With sculptural installations alluding to the body and its symbolism, the exhibition — and accompanying album produced with Gediminas Žygus — looks at the slippages and difficulties of communication. As noted in the press release, Danz’s work “probes the expressive capabilities and limitations of language, the legibility of signifiers and their hierarchical systems.”**

Mariechen Danz’s Clouded in Veins is on at Kunsthalle Recklinghausen, Germany, running May 2 to August 29, 2021.
