With monumental sculptures of subverted Greco-Roman deities, the works surround a pool of liquid soap produced by New York State’s Division of Correctional Industries, in a critique of the state’s exploitative prison labor practices. As Chuke stated when he appeared on AQNB’s recent Artist Statement podcast: “Analyzing the prison system is a way to get to history.”**
