Rắn Cạp Đuôi is releasing album Ngủ Ngày Ngay Ngày Tận Thế via Subtext Recordings on July 16, with preview track ‘Aztec Glue’ premiering on AQNB today. The record follows the Ho Chi Minh-based trio’s 2019 record, Libyan Circle Voice Stimulation, where the psychedelic and IDM-infused club was most recently heard.

Ngủ Ngày Ngay Ngày Tận Thế is as much about sonic exploration as it is memory. Written mainly by artist Zach Sch in the wake of his father’s death, the record uses club and IDM motifs to offer a perspective on possible cybernetic futures. The track ‘Aztec Glue’ shifts between unconventional compositions of beats and glitched-out ambiance, evoking an absurd quality aimed at celebrating life instead of dwelling in the darkness of predictable high-pressure club beats. The project alters the nostalgia of Vietnamese music beyond its traditional origins.**

Rắn Cạp Đuôi’s Ngủ Ngày Ngay Ngày Tận Thế is out via Subtext Recordings on July 16.
