ABADIR is releasing album Pause/Stutter/Uh/Repeat via Genot Centre on July 4, with preview track ‘V (ZULI WM Remix)’ premiering today on AQNB. The record is a culmination of the Egyptian artist’s graduate thesis, which mediates on communication processes via glitch and ambient sonics.

ZULI’s take on ABADIR’s track ‘V’ grounds fragmented vocal samples and granular synthesis into a slow-rolling beat, revealing an alternative perspective on the artist’s technique for how humans derive specific speech signals. “In this sense, the collage technique in composition reflects how we construct meaning out of tiny utterances in our speech,” explains ABADIR in the press release. Meanwhile, the rhythm in the remix features delivers these voices it almost precisely, yet in a way so fleeting, that it escapes understanding.**

ABADIR’s Pause/Stutter/Uh/Repeat is out via Genot Centre on July 4.
