The Colliding Wind compilation is out on Berlin’s Concentric Records on January 15, with Tragic Selector (aka Daisuke Tadokoro and Terre Thaemlitz)’s ‘A Dialogue With Gravity’ track premiering on AQNB today. The second introductory compilation from the new cross-genre label, the release also features Kareem Lotfy, Etapp Kyle and Christina Vantzou, among others, and presents a range of evocative ambient and experimental works.
This record is inspired by themes of finding harmony in chaos, specific to the binary star system “in which the two members are massive stars that emit powerful, radiatively-driven stellar winds”. For ‘A Dialogue With Gravity’, Kyoto-based organizer, DJ and musician Tadokoro’s piano is processed through Thaemlitz’s effects in real-time to produce an equally contrastive composition of harmony and obstruction.**
