Aj simons is self-releasing single ‘one love ft. juju’ with premiere via AQNB today, December 17. Earlier in 2020, the Swedish pop artist dropped a collaboration with umru and EP Velvet & Leather on Cole Longanecker’s Curiosity Shop, both putting forth an ethereal attitude that takes form as upbeat hyperpop on this latest track.

‘one love’ strips back at the melancholic maximalism of the artist’s prior releases, with tightened ambiances and synths that break between 808 drum kit samples. Lyrics roll off the rhythm, describing a jaunty personality at the club before folding into lucid dream-like sound effects. “It’s a song I made during quarantine back in April,” explains simons over email. “I wanted it to reflect on inner change and self-love.” The song closes with juju, rapallo, and clyde – perhaps a reminder to stay hopeful, especially with the help of friends.**

Aj simons’ ‘one love ft. juju (prod. clyde & rapallo)’ is self-released on December 17.
