A Californian Plumber, a solo show by Agnieszka Szostek, was on at Leipzig’s Fugitif, running June 24 to 25.
With sculptures blending printed images and synthetic materials, Szostek’s work creates physical and organic-seeming forms out of digital debris. As the show’s curator Tristan Deschamps writes in the exhibition text, relating Szostek’s work to a personal encounter with a plumber who spoke in depth about the material nature of his job, “I think we can also become self taught plumbers, fixing homes and morphing those into stories and tales.”**
