Transcendental encounters, British occultism & the contemporary technological landscape in a duo show by Amalia Vekri & Valinia Svoronou

Perfumed Envelopes Travel: Avalon of the Heart, a duo exhibition by Amalia Vekri and Valinia Svoronou, is on at P.E.T. Projects, Athens, running June 24 to October 12.

With paintings, sculptures, mixed media and participatory performances, the project takes its title from a book by Dione Fortune, in which the British occultist imagined Glastonbury as a legendary site of magical and transcendental encounters. The artists draw from the themes of this book “oscillating between references to new age, popular culture, storytelling and the overpowering construct of romanticism in a contemporary technological landscape.”**
