Nick Storring is releasing LP My Magic Dreams Have Lost Their Spell via Ohio’s Orange Milk Records on March 27, with preview track ‘Tonight There’ll Be No Distance Between Us’ premiering on AQNB today. This is the sixth studio album from the Toronto-based composer, whose highly affecting electroacoustic arrangements are often produced for both live performance and ambient gaming scores.

This album is an abstract homage to American soul, RnB and jazz singer Roberta Flack, with each title referring to a lyric from one of her vast catalogue of songs dating back to the 70s. While My Magic Dreams… features neither vocals nor any stylistic ties to Flack’s music specifically, its delicately woven arrangements of strings and synths do hold a similar sensibility for emotional arousal. Like the rest of the record, ‘Tonight There’ll Be No Distance Between Us’ evokes a beautiful introspection that lingers at the liminal space between the virtual and the physical world.**

Nick Storring’s My Magic Dreams Have Lost Their Spell LP is out via Ohio’s Orange Milk Records on March 27, 2020.
