Nape (aka Severin Black) is releasing EP Molasses via London’s Beat Concern Records on January 31, with preview track ‘Stammer’ premiering on AQNB today. The London-based drummer and sound artist pivots from a position as a past member of indie rock band Fat White Family to his own heavy industrial techno production.

The four-track cassette release will be the second under Black’s Nape moniker, including three other brutal and distorted beat-driven tracks, called ‘Molasses’, ‘Gearchat’ and ‘Hacienda’, recalling a ritual march to war. ‘Stammer’ leads the charge with its knocking, reverberating opening that crumbles around its edges, before a crunchy, throbbing bass drum carries through Nape’s minimal sonic accessories, as they burrow and bounce within.**

Nape’s Molasses EP is out via London’s Beat Concern Records on January 31, 2020.
