A duo show by Eliza Douglas & Puppies Puppies (Jade Kuriki Olivo) was on at Zürich’s Galerie Francesca Pia, running October 26 to November 30.
With paintings, installations and performances, the show featured each artist in dialogue with one another. Douglas binge watched footage from The Walking Dead TV series in zombie make up, whereas Puppies Puppies continued her past costumed performance work with a new piece in which she lies in an open coffin. Throughout the show the iconography of zombies and doomsday prepping reflect themes of anxiety and objectification, dysphoria and social uncertainty.**
