Dirty K is releasing EP Panorama on Shanghai’s Genome 6.66Mbp on November 28, with a music video for the title track premiering on AQNB today. This is the second release on the label from the Nanjing-based producer, whose 2017 debut Exsiccation presented its own stripped back take on post-club tropes with a thematic exploration of the contrasting nature of URL and IRL existence.
The follow up eases out of its focus on the technical side of music production into a more emotional sonic probing. That means warmer tones, more pads and acoustic instrument simulations as well as extra dynamics, as well as the clipped beats and bass sounds familiar to a Genome 6.66Mbp audience. The video for ‘Panorama’, meanwhile, sees Iranacredi (aka Johanna Invrea) take that track’s textural contrasts on its own journey into the frenetic CGI imagery and framed footage of digital and physical landscapes.**
