Princess Prada (aka Carla Garlaschi) is self-releasing single ‘MONEY MONEY’, premiering on AQNB today. The Stockholm and London-based Chilean reggaeton performer and artist drops the track as part of the Baltic Survival Kit 10.1 festival at Riga’s Latvian Centre for Contemporary Art (LCCA), opening May 23 and running to June 30.

Garlaschi works within performance, video and installation, looking at the role of entertainment genres, like soap operas and fan fiction, in confronting global pop-culture beliefs and the political past of Latin America. Releasing her debut EP via Cherish Label last year, Princess Prada’s style is situated in the Pan-American scene of so-called “futuristic reggaeton” with the likes Freak City Music, Shiroi Kitsune and Bad Gyal. ‘MONEY MONEY’ applies the lurching, bodily movement of this cut-and-paste sample culture to sleazy art world themes of greed, seduction and ego via lyrics suffuse with telenovela melodrama.**

The Survival Kit 10.1 Baltic art festival is on at Riga’s Latvian Centre for Contemporary Art (LCCA), running May 23 to June 30, 2019.
