9T Antiope (aka Nima Aghiani and Sara Bigdeli Shamloo) is releasing album Nocebo via New York’s PTP Recordings on February 15, with a preview excerpt of ‘The Whole Ocean Floods In – The Whole Room Pours Out’ premiering on AQNB today. The recording is part of a commission from SET X CTM festival in Tehran last year, where the Paris-based, Iranian producer duo collaborated on an A/V project with Berlin-based artist and film maker Rainer Kohlberger.

The resulting LP is the second of three parts called Isthmus:Nocebo:Placebo, exploring the potential for creating new realities in order to replace those that already exist. Nocebo‘s title is taken from the harmless substance that can cause harmful effects when delivered with negative expectations to a patient. The wobbly echo of a vocal harmony is engulfed in harsh noise and drone, as layers of acoustic and electronic instrumentation wordlessly narrate what the press release calls “the stories of beings, who have given up on their space and time, thus forcing themselves into complete isolation and eventually a self-induced comatose state.”**
