Situated inside an open space exposed to the outdoors of the museum’s rural location, the show welcomes the entrance of weather and external factors, as well as the potential this brings for the exhibition to develop with such encounters.

This material exploration gives the installation works — comprising organic and inorganic matter — an active, temporal quality, one that is further enlivened over the year-long project by four performances held in-line with the seasons. As stated in the press release, the Baan’s work navigates “the discrepancy between what it means to exist with, rather than to exist beside”.**

Josephine Baan’s MOTH solo exhibition is in on at Beromünster’s KKLB in Switzerland, running October, 2018, to October 2019. The second seasonal performance as part of the project, entitled The Slumber, will take place on February 10, 2019.
