ST/NE (aka Stine Janvin) released EP ME/WE via London’s Laura Lies In on November 23, with a music video for ‘Open Minded’ premiering on AQNB today. The Berlin-based Norwegian vocalist, performer and sound artist released an album on PAN in October, as well as a collaboration with Felicity Mangan under the Native Instrument moniker on Shelter Press last year.

While her earlier Fake Synthetic Music LP concentrated on “architectural electronic music” by exploring optical and auditory illusions referencing pop, trance and techno, ME/WE leans more heavily on Janvin’s background in jazz and improvisation. The EP is described as a “satirical pop experiment” made up of cut up, layered and turbulent compositions of field recordings, vocal samples and electronics. Oslo-based noise musician and artist Lasse Marhaug‘s video to accompany lead single ‘Open Minded’ consists a similarly choppy, stop motion slide of Janvin wearing a pink wig and posing with bags of dead leaves.**

ST/NE’s ME/WE EP was released via London’s Laura Lies In on November 23, 2018.
