Lilly Kane (aka Lei Lei Kung) released her Incognito EP onWarsaw’s Intruder Alert on August 20, with the music video for ‘Administer Truth’ premiering via AQNB today. Inspired by artist’s like Triad God and Cecilia, the Hong Kong-born, Melbourne-based artist and producer also writes, having included some of her text on what she calls “noetry” to accompany the record’s four tracks: “it’s about screaming secrets.”
Directed by Lei Lei Kung and Crosbie Crosbie, and shot by Cordelia Crosbie, the video features grainy nighttime footage of the artist painting her face with eyeliner in the sonic ambience of field recordings featuring locomotives and helicopters. Whispered spoken word, overlaid with indifferent vocal murmurings contemplates anxiety and affect: “I want to feel safe in a sweater.”**
