Lyle keeps it short & sweet for the heavily-processed vocal closer ‘Laconics’ of the Bathing EP out on his own Morning Routine label

Lyle (aka Max Campbell) is releasing his Bathing EP via London’s Morning Routine on July 10, with a preview track ‘Laconics’, premiering on AQNB today. The London-based producer, performer and musician has collaborated with Oakland’s Club Chai co-founder FOOZOOL, as well as Nabihah Iqbal (fka Throwing Shade) who appears alongside Lyle live band member Don Sinini on the record.

The EP is a bizarre mix of cross-genre exploration, whether it’s in the drum machine-heavy melodic piano number of title-track ‘Bathing’ echoing the experimental art rock of Radiohead or the Auto-Tune scat reminiscent of an artist like Gaika in ‘Tell Me I’m Crazy’. ‘Laconics’, on the other hand, does what its title promises, keeping it short and sweet with a moaning vocal number that’s also heavy on the pitch-shifting and filters in a one-and-a-half minute closer.**
