Arrangements for the desert: The Magic Hour presents a collection of objects, ephemera + gestures in first exhibition No.1

, 15 May 2018

The No. 1 group exhibition at Twentynine Palms’ The Magic Hour opened March 17 and ran to May 6.

Organised by Alice Wang and Ben Tong, the experimental platform takes place in a Californian desert where a shape shifting metal structure (co-produced by Dyson & Womack) becomes a platform for artists to ‘contribute arrangements for the desert.’ Open from sunrise to sunset, the platform presents ‘artworks, objects, ephemera, and gestures’ over a year-long series of exhibitions which will culminate in an accompanying catalogue of documentation in March, 2019.

Their first show features paintings by Gracie Devito, a blanket in the form of found objects including porcelain, string and braided hair by Patricia Fernández, fused glass by Anne Guro Larsmon, a nickel-plated steel object by Shana Lutker and latex paint on nylon by Sarah Rara.**
