Main Street explores travel time + traffic jams in offsite project Commuter’s Digest along the Don Valley Highway in Toronto

, 14 December 2017

The Commuter’s Digest group exhibition at Toronto’s Main Street took place between the hours of 7am and 7pm on October 20.

Beginning and ending with rush hour times, the show uses the context of the Don Valley Parkway for its first offsite project and includes work by Joe Becker, Simone Blain, Hanna Hur, Thilo Jenssen, Laurie Kang, Connor Olthuis, Aidan Pontarini and a text piece in 15 editions called ‘How to Cope with the Inevitable’ made in collaboration by Madelyne Beckles, Kiera Boult and Delilah Rosier.

The exhibition uses the physical and mental space of travel time and traffic jams to explore themes of “isolation, boredom” and “disassociation with material waste and environmental destruction.”**
