Larry Achiampong is presenting solo project Relic 1 at London’s The Chapel, Kings College, running October 13 to October 15.
Part of the King’s College Arts and Humanities Festival 2017 and PS/Y’s Hysteria programme, the new moving image installation will follow a child-protagonist through a landscape that uncovers clues to a forgotten Empire. Narrative of the boy, migration and technology are interwoven to create a journey that is “simultaneously claustrophobic, traumatic, poetic and sublime.”
The opening evening will include an in-conversation with Jessica Taylor, as well as a reading by Nephertiti Oboshie Schandorf. The film is part of Achiampong’s multi-disciplinary project Relic Traveller.
