The Entangling Matter and Meaning program is on at Treignac’s Treignac Projet, opening July 1 and running to September 3.

Coming in two parts, the event included the group show Intra-Structures – Monster of the Seven Lakes, as well as a series of residencies and interferences, presented under the Entangling Matter and Meaning umbrella. Described in the press release as an ‘exhibitionary entanglement,’ the participating artists used Karen Barad‘s study of physics, philosophy and feminism to inform and explore their work.
The program included contributions from Malin Arnell + Mario Fjell, Jaana Laakkonen, Rachel Schenberg, Sabrina Chou, Caroline Doolin, The Otolith Group and Laura Põld, Moomin books by Tove Jansson, Magdalena Górska, Jason Hendrik Hansma, Inga Lāce, Marina Valle Noronha, Sabrina Soyer, Elina Suoyrjö and Eloise Sweetman.
Organised by Sam Basu, Jaana Laakkonen and curator Jussi Koitela, the project looks at contemporary practices in institutions through the lens of ‘queer and feminist-posthuman’ discourse. Treignac Projet is located in a former yarn factory in the Correze region of France that focuses on collaborative research and approaches to making.**
