Kembra Pfahler is presenting solo exhibition Capital Improvements at London’s Emalin, opening November 15 and running to December 21.

The New York-based performance artist and musician will show new works, as well as perform with her glam-punk band The Voluptuous Horror of Karen Black on the opening night. There will also be an evening of screenings on November 17, curated by the artist.

Pfahler works within a variety of media to explore anti-naturalism, sexuality and feminism. Often working in lofi, or whatever is most readily available, she coined the philosophy of availabism. Recent solo exhibitions include Fuck Island (2012) at New York’s Participant Inc and File Under V (2005) at London’s Rove Gallery.
