Samuel Levack & Jennifer Lewandowski present a fundraising exhibition Das Hund – Alternative Living Tour taking place at various locations around California beginning October 14 and running to November 14.
Their tour will begin in Joshua Tree National Park with a two-week residency at the outdoor desert living experiment Wagon Station Encampment run by Andrea Zittel. During this time, the duo will shoot footage for their new film and will be travelling with writer Ellen Mara De Wachter who has been commissioned to write the script “contextualising the journey against the backdrop of the concurrent US presidential election.” They will also be working on the content for their band Das Hund‘s debut record which is being released in 2017.
The tour will carry on to Los Angeles, where they will perform at Actual Size LA on November 5 and Hauser Wirth & Schimmel on November 10 as part of live series After 5, joined by guitarist Nicholas Pankhurst and musical director Bryan Mills. The performances will feature “spoken poetry and songs – accompanied by live instruments and looped drumbeats remixed using analogue tape delays, with the artists’ films projected across the set.”
