Rotterdam-based Kristina Õllek will show new online work with Konstanet.com as a part of their ongoing series WHEN YOU HAVE THE OBJECT ITSELF IN FRONT OF YOUR EYES, opening March 30.

The series run by the Tallinn-based artist initiative hosts site- and medium-specific exhibitions and works that examine the impact of object and image transformation within representation, documentation and circulation.

The work by Õllek is introduced by a press release that outlines what happens and what it is you are looking at when you enter into a webpage and experience an image there:

You are here,
this is the exhibition

It has been photographed, uploaded, edited, reformatted, uploaded, downloaded, uploaded, shared.

Õllek mainly works in terms of the site and space she is given with, responding not necessarily to imagery, but what she is seeing there through an investigation of copying, re-presenting and emphasising.

See the FB event for more details, the work will launch online at 8pm**
