London-based artist Paul Simon Richards will present a new video work, ‘L*a*b’ which is also the title of his solo show, opening at London’s Arcade on March 16 running April 23.

L*a*b is a theoretical colour space used in digital imaging software such as Photoshop, as an alternative to RGB and CMYK, it is often used in retouching and colour management and offers the broadest conceivable spectrum of its kind. It can be used to describe the physical experience of colour (the red of a firework, so bright that it hurts your eyes).

The video that will be shown for L*a*b describes the experience of imaginary colours as events which exceed the rules of language. Richards, who recently co-curated a series for online video platform The One Minutes deals with thoughts and words that almost come from nowhere and still manage to stay in an invisible realm, despite the films.

See the FB event page for (limited) details and a poem for the press release**
