The განუსაზღვრელი სურათი (“The Absent Image”) group exhibition is on at Tbilisi’s Gallery Nectar, opening December 19 and running to January 17, 2016.

The show is dedicated to the 100th anniversary of 0-10 (1915) by Kazimir Malevich with Ivan Puni and Ksenya Bogoslavskaya, the last futurist exhibition known for introducing Suprematism and its “total negation of the figurative representation in art and instead celebrating ‘the pure artistic feeling’ and its iconic work – the Black Square”.

Curated by Elene Abashidze and featuring work by Nikita KadanAnna K.E.Sophie Jung, Imran Perretta, and Gio Sumbadze, the The Absent Image questions the necessity of the image as icon and suggests reflecting on the present rather than looking to the future.

There will be a finissage on the evening of January 17 where Tbilisi-based Luna999 and MANGIPHERA will perform hip hop in the space.

See the the exhibition page for details of the show and finissage.**
