Jamaican-British filmmaker Cecile Emeke is coming to London’s Institute of Education for a screening and discussion presented by Decolonising Our Minds Society on April 8.
The evening will bring an episode of Emeke’s short video series titled Strolling and featuring interviews with young women and men on topics like colourism and afrofuturism, followed by a screening of an episode of her web series Ackee and Saltfish.
After the screenings, the IoE will host a Q&A and discussion with the filmmaker around themes of Black identity, Black feminism and (the absence of) Black youth in film and on television.
