Ann Hirsch‘s debut solo exhibition, Muffy, is running at American Medium‘s new Brooklyn location, opening May 16 and running to June 26.
The video and performance artist’s exploration of the ways in which technology has influenced gender and popular culture continues with Muffy as she examines the “inchoate state of early adolescent sexuality” through drawings, prints, and sculptures.
Weaving through the convoluted effects of biology and those of technology and pop culture, Hirsch investigates the self-transformation imperative of adolescence and its greatest influencers.
