Kid in a Candy Store

From all the Superbowl crazy ad orgy from a weekend ago (we look at it as an ad competition not a sport… who cares about sport these days…) there’s one that clearly stood out from the rest… and it was a first for this car sales network…

Carmax & their “Kid in a candy store” & the even better “Gas station” (below) added the always necessary funny & ironic touch to the traditional megabombastic ads with superstars.

…a kid in a candy store, or a geek at a robot convention, a mermaid at a swim meet, a wrestler in a folding chair factory, a hippie in a drum circle, an acrobat in a mattress store… and better yet for the second ad, like a customer in a 50s service station.

A campaign developed at Amalgamated (NY) by CCO Eric Silver & shot by Tom Kuntz.
