For now it’s just a concept, but if they get to the magic number of 1million Facebook followers Rekill will probably see daylight (or get funded in some sort of way)..
Rekill is an original action / sci-fi project intended for multiple platforms, including games, graphic novels, animation & live action which in its first initial stage needs to prove its “social viability”… basically they want us all to make it viral so they can reach those 1M Facebook followers that would prove the social interest for this project.
Todd M Denis (the brain behind jewels like Jawbone.tv and co-producer of Stu Campbell’s Nawlz which we already talked about) is trying to keep up the momentum of his productions which manage to fusion different techniques, styles and platforms (will we see it on the iPad one day?)….
So what is Rekill about?
“The Rekill world revolves around Doctor Raymond Crick, a brilliant but highly unethical bio-chemist who’s assembled an extensive DNA remnant catalog of history’s most prolific killers – truly serious customers like Napoleon, Stalin, Pol Pot and Hitler. Backed by shadowy financiers, Crick creates clones for wealthy game hunters to ‘rekill’ in a consequence-free environment, but when he tries to terminate the project due to security concerns, it’s the good doctor who becomes the next target.”
The artwork (which caught our attention in the first place) comes from Black Sheep studios and more precisely… Hilay Jenkins & Tyler Jenkins. The whole story has this “twisted” angle like Naoki Urasawa’s Monster or Bill Sienkiewicz’s comics we love so much.
