They wink at us, we wink back. El Bombin Cuadrado is a Spanish Ezine with a heavy cultural dose curated by Cristian Barbeito, Javier S. Casado, Antonio Cuesta, María Casado & Charlie Moth, and I thought ezines were dead….

But it seems they’re not! And glad to discover this kind of indie publications keep appearing and surviving despite all the iPad revolution and all those tablet-only magazines that multimillionaires keep launching (Mr. Branson just launched “Project” 2 weeks ago).

El Bombin is one of those projects we love and admire because tries to diffuse culture with an agnostic and free way with each zine focused on a predefined subject. Heavy doses of narrative, illustration, articles graphic arts and more. The publication for now is bimonthly and up to now they’ve played with 4 topics… “Origins”, “I like, it hurts me”, “Ego” and “Baba O’Riley” with the latest issue focused on “Millionaire for a day”.

Their pilot issue (oo) is in English, so no excuses for not reading (ok, ok, hopefully their future issues will have an English component, if not, only for those of you who can read Spanish, sorry).

Pretty big insights into the cultural world that go from the pOppiest pop artist to the indiest musician. A long variety of hats & bowlers given out for free @ this particular hat shop. Enjoy! (The rest of the zines? This way please).
