Incidental Media

Just like the (hyper)Reality works by Mr. Matsuda we talked about 3 months ago, we’re discovering loads of examples & insights lately of what the future might look like in the years to come. This work by Dentsu London & Berg also digs into the future of brand communication, contextual information & ambient interaction…

Both videos sketches use the growing number and variety of media surfaces as a canvas: “Incidental Media” explores a number of different illustrations across various brands and companies, and “The Journey” focuses on some of the opportunities around travel in stations and on trains.

Making Future Magic was partly conceived as a way to avoid making horrible use of media that makes everyone feel like Chief John Anderton. But also (and mostly) as something that would help us think about the most exciting creative possibilities opening up in a continually shifting and multiplying media landscape, where the scope of communications broadens to encompass and meld service, product and software with more traditional advertising.

(this was their 1st & more abstract example)

This is part of a collaboration between Dentsu London and BERG. You can read more about both films at Dentsu London’s blog and on BERG’s blog here and here. This film is under a Creative Commons 3.0 license, which means you’re free to share or use any of the ideas in it, with proper attribution to Dentsu London and BERG.
