Google’s Demo Slam

Most Google products are pretty straightforward and don’t need any explanation from any of their product managers, engineers or VPs. Others (like when Wave was released) would make a lot of sense at first but also would need hours of Youtube videos & posts to be fully explained…

With some pretty boring results. And that’s why big G has launched this competition “Demo Slam” where several teams, managers (or even yourself) try to explain any Google search product in the easiest & funniest possible way.

You’ll first have to choose your “tech” (search product) … voice, results as you type, local results, universal search, customisation of homepage….

Anyone from the USA can participate until next January 30th (booo for us Europeans!) although your video should be under 1 minute, no ads, images & content of your own, not offensive… the usual stuff (you can read all the terms & conditions just before submitting on their webpage). And a weekly winner will then be chosen & showcased on their website (you only get the fame… nothing else, sorry). Appealing enough?

The big G products you may use….

Google Book Search
Google Chrome
Google Docs
Google Earth
Google Goggles
Google Instant
Google Image Search
Google Translate
Google Home Page Image
Google Maps
Picasa
Google Product Search
Google Realtime Search
Google Sky Map
Google Video Chat and Google Talk
Google Voice Search
