Another poetry album for Antony…, a new beginning? So much to thank, so much to declare, so much romanticism embedded in his new album released tomorrow: Swanlights…
Hegarty seems to try something new and more experimental in his latest album, don’t expect of course a bad placed synth, you know his style… piano, violin and voice… with some percussion traces. But in Swanlights Spanish guitars make their way into what Antony defined himself as being an album that pretends to capture “the moment when a spirit jumps out of a body and turns into a violet ghost.’’
At the same time the album is released tomorrow (via Rough Trade in EU and October 12th in North America via Secretly Canadian) Antony will be “taking over” the Guardian music website for a week. There will be interviews with Marina Abromovic and Bjork, essays including one on Native American Two Spirit traditions, video debuts by Charles Atlas, Peter Sempel and Antony and the Johnsons, features on several musicians and an art series…
