NASA on The Commons

Guess who just donated a few photos to Flickr’s “The Commons” project? Nasa Images!…. more than 50 years of photographic history that Nasa Images have started to roll out with their own Flickr account. Why?

Reach a bigger audience of course, and we celebrate this decision. Only 3 sets for now “Launch and Takeoff,” “Building NASA” & “Center Namesakes”… and as they’re part of “The Commons” they’re copyright-free, so you can share and use these images however you like.

As you probably know The Commons Flickr project (which only started a couple of years ago) is trying to create a constantly growing photo archive with several public institutions (most of them American). A very important & useful archive as it will be part of our collective memory and that encourages us all to participate, comment, tag & contribute while discussing these amazing photos.
