The superb work that Italian-born artist Lorenzo Mattotti did for the New Yorker mag & The Royal Opera House of NY in 2007 has finally been published in Spanish under Libros del zorro rojo

The prestigious illustrator whose illustrations have been published in magazines such as The New Yorker, Le Monde and Vanity Fair won an Eisner Award in 2003 for his Dr Jekyll & Mr Hyde graphic novel. In this work Mattotti interprets with clever light & shadow compositions one of the most famous stories from the Grimm brothers.

Their story is narrated in an original way through dark traces which invite us to guess, sense and suspect all his suggestions. Illustrated in black and white Mattotti tries to underline the tragic sense of this story whose original sense has been decaffeinated (cannibalism, kids murdering & cremation….). Black & white where never so expressive! The book has a European hardcover format with 56 pages and you can buy it on-line (Spanish) for 13€.
