White Magic sounds

And finally with a bit of hype and the exact amount of bizarreness Sincerely Yours has managed to pull out another virginal instrumental diamond: White Magic. The solo debut album of CEO (Eric Berglund) former member of the fresh duo Tough Alliance (and also co-founder of the label) comes to complete that magical chain of sounds Sweden keeps delighting us with, but that aren’t spicy enough to be full flavored… so many snow clean white blended harmonies we could rest in peace for eternity if we didn’t have to pay our bills.

We first got to know Eric’s solo project last May when he released that first single & video “Come with Me“, the good-evil fight that kept sounding too TTA for us, too many elements of the old duo with those steel drums and piano figures, nothing changed to keep succeeding. We were not convinced, although we welcomed the single as Nordic breezes of air are always needed in hot sunny days like today….

“White magic”  isn’t the perfect wakening I was expecting this morning; the rediscovery of Eric Berglund’s new set of sounds perfectly put together in the tidiest way, as he always does. It was an aesthetically beautiful 30min album with 8 spotless tracks none of them passing the 5-minute mark, an album filled to the brim with his omnipresent optimism, what else if not?

Creating magic sounds being agnostic is hardly impossible nowadays, although some alchemists like Eric have managed to demonstrate why they’re the first of the electro-pop class: mixing equal parts of synth pop with the (lately too exploited) denominated “Balearic” disco sounds, tribal elements & all the trendy electronic arrangements you might find in similar artists couldn’t be easier for him.

But White Magic isn’t one of those compact but intense art symphonies to cheer up with; however some of its tracks clearly stand out of the ordinary. Like the overture “All around”, a dark atmospheric, vague & classic slap which creates false expectations of the remaining 25 minutes…

or the electro-tribal fusion of “White Magic”, probably an upcoming single which you can already start putting images to.

and although the album is not available on Spotify you might be able to grab most of the 8 tracks (if you carefully look for them) @ Soundcloud (oh and we found this link… we don’t know where it leads to…). We listened to it quickly and then deleted it, but we won’t tell ya.
