In this 80s revival we’re experiencing lately (V, Karate kid, Freddy…) animated series are obviously another treasure for producers & new heroes for young generations. Thundercats are back!!!!

It would seem like the Cartoon Network has commissioned a new version of 1980s animated series “ThunderCats” from Warner Bros. Animation.

And guess who could be behind the animation….. Japanese firm Studio 4°C (the ones behind The Animatrix!). The new Thundercats will feature anime-style art but also bring “realistic cat-like characteristics” to Lion-O, Mumma-Ra, Panthro, Cheetara, and the rest of the gang.

“In addition to being Warner Bros. Animation’s first anime series, ‘ThunderCats’ marks our most ambitious foray yet into fantasy,” said Sam Register, executive vp creative affairs at WBA. “The realism and dynamic visual style we’ve achieved are sure to thrill viewers, and the cool weapons, vehicles and technology should help the show appeal to a diverse audience.”

Here’s one of Studio 4°C’s animations… so you get the idea of what they’re capable of. Don’t judge them for being too anime (they’re Japanese anyway), we’re sure they’ll create some pretty good series.
